Hi! Nice to meet you 🧡

I'm Marta, a fashion designer. I'm from Pombal, but I'm currently in Lisbon. I've always loved arts and crafts, painting and creating. My taste for fashion began when I was at secondary school and since then I've never stopped exploring this universe.

 

 

The Marta Coelho brand was born during a period of professional challenges, after I finished my degree in Fashion and Textile Design at ESART in 2021. Initially, creating a fashion brand wasn't in my plans. However, after taking part in Etikway's first sustainable fashion show in 2022, I realised that commercialising my creations was the path I wanted to follow.

With the aim of creating a brand focused on sustainability, comfort, practicality, creativity and vibrant, colourful finishes, I launched the Return to Origins accessories collection. This collection, made up of tote bags made from materials such as ecological cotton, Portuguese cork and pinatex, marked the beginning of the Marta Coelho brand's journey 🥰

In 2023, I had the honour of taking part in the second edition of the Freudenberg Fashioning Sustainability competition, where I was selected for the final and had the opportunity to present my project in Milan at the event held at Bagni Misteriosi. That same year, I again took part in Etikway's sustainable fashion show, with presentations at Modtissimo in Matosinhos and Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon.

In 2023, I started working as a fashion stylist in the television industry. And I'm still working today! It's a super challenging job, as we work on live programmes, but I love a challenge! I'm part of a wardrobe team and we work with various brands to dress the presenters, journalists and reporters. We tailor the clothing style to the presenter's personality and the programme. ✨

In 2024, I launched my first capsule clothing collection, Bioluminescence. That same year, I won first prize in the third edition of Etikway's Sustainable Fashion Show, with the Laranja do Algarve collection 🍊

 

Marta Coelho is a brand that values creativity, sustainability and innovative design. With each piece, we endeavour to offer products that not only delight with their aesthetics, but also respect the environment and promote conscious and ethical fashion 🌿
