Burel is a Portuguese handmade fabric, made from the wool of Bordaleira sheep from Serra da Estrela. High quality fabric. The act of shearing the sheep, that is, the removal of the wool layer ensures quality of life and comfort to the animal and control of parasites. Sheep need shearing to maintain body temperature, excess wool causes overheating and loss of the animal's ability to regulate temperature in warmer seasons. This process is fundamental for sheep to have quality of life. It's a beautiful natural and sustainable material 💖
